THE WINDSOR STAR JOINS ROTARY AUCTION AS A MAJOR SPONSOR
With the Rotary Auction on TV COGECO scheduled for November 9 and 10, the 2012 campaign has already succeeded in attracting a number of Major Sponsors – the latest being The Windsor Star. As a major sponsor, they have pledged close to $25,000 of advertising and promotional services toward the 2012 auction campaign.
The Windsor Star is the regional newspaper in Windsor and Essex County and is owned by Postmedia Network Inc. The Star publishes six days a week, Monday through Saturday and is the best place to get all of your in depth news and analysis from our community and from around the world – in print and on line.
“The Rotary TV Auction is an important and much needed community fund raising project and one which the Windsor Star is happy to support,” says Jeff Galad, Coordinator of Public Relations & Community Investment. “By providing the services of The Windsor Star as a vehicle to promote the auction and provide the community with a comprehensive list of all of the items to be auctioned off, I know we are helping both the Rotary Club of Windsor St. Clair and Heart and Stroke provide important community services.”
The Heart and Stroke Foundation uses the monies raised to fund research, health promotion, and community improvement projects. The Rotary Club of Windsor-St. Clair also uses the money raised to fund club projects like the Ganatchio Trail, Shanfield Shores, and the Rotary boundary-free playground in the Town of Tecumseh. Monies raised also assist many families on an individual basis, fund a student bursary program, and aid in Rotary projects worldwide to eradicate polio.
“The Windsor Star has supported our TV auction for many years and we are truly grateful for everything they do for us,” says Windsor St. Clair Rotary Club President Chris Woodrow. “The staff recognizes the importance of the work we do and the work we want to continue to do. This sponsorship allows us to properly advertise and promote the auction which will ensure we raise the maximum dollars we can for Rotary projects and initiatives.” Last year, with the generous support of local industries and businesses, over $50,000 was raised at the TV Auction.
Hockey tickets, sports memorabilia, unique home decor items, delicious dining experiences, electronic equipment and travel get-aways are some of the auction items which will be available in November.
